The followers of Andruma

A people of seafaring nomads. Also called The Seafarers Of Corposum.

Many years ago, their ancestors lived on a small volcanic island called Corposum.

Andruma was a prophetess who predicted the eruption of the volcano of Corpusum. This is her prophecy as written in the Book of Androma:

“Hear my words and listen, for I seek to save your lives. Great danger is approaching. Disaster is about to strike us. We sinned against Oclipa. We received land from her to grow our food on. We promised her we would cultivate and protect it, but we broke our promise, digging it up and wounding it to find gold and diamonds. We have become greedy, and for that we are punished.”

“On the fifteenth night of the sixth month, when the moon is full, the volcano of Corposum will erupt. Ash and dust will cover our fields. Hot lava will destroy our homes. No one will be able to survive. Do not stay on the island. Escape for your lives. Board the ships in the harbor and sail far out to sea, for there will be a terrible eruption, after which our island will collapse and sink beneath the surface of the water. Do as I say and be saved. I beg you.”

Most of the island’s inhabitants did not believe her prophecy. Some even wanted to put her in prison for spreading panic among the public. But she did not stop. Every day, she would come to the town square and shout her cry.

Slowly, believers gathered around her. They bought an old ship called Ralya, repaired it, and filled it with food and water.

On the fourteenth day of the sixth month in the year of destruction, the ship left the island with two hundred and ninety-eight men, women, and children on board.

The next day, the Corposum volcano erupted, and the entire island sank beneath the waves. On that day, Andruma said to them: You have been saved from a great disaster, but do not rejoice in your hearts because all your brothers perished in it. Know that this disaster is the punishment of the Titans for having broken the promise of Oclipa, for having wounded the island and corrupted its land. Our punishment does not end there. For we are condemned to a life of wandering until Oclipa forgives us and finds us a land to settle.

Thus began the long story of the seafarers of Corposum.

The Seafarers Of Corposum.
