The city began as a small village founded by a group of refugees led by Gonia, the daughter of King Netzer-Alissa. Slowly, the village grew to develop into a large, bustling city.
It is built like a giant machine. It has conveyor belts, escalators, and elevators that synchronize with each other to transport people and goods from place to place, which is why it is also called the Machine City. Dovira’s complex machinery is maintained and operated by many workers, humans, and other creatures such as mancofs and broonies. This working class is called Veds.
From Admon’s testimony: “It was as if we were swallowed by a great machine. A large conveyor belt quickly drove us inside. Large gears made of brass and bronze revolved around us. Escalators moved people between the different levels. Transparent elevators in the form of a capsule took them to the upper floors of the towers above us or took them down to the ground floor. This system is very quiet. It works flawlessly, everything seems to be perfectly timed.”
