Winged herbivores. Quite common in the great plains of Gomelia. They used to be seen on Cartica as well, but they abandoned the island many years ago. Karmirs usually live in flocks. Their wings are somewhat reminiscent of a bat’s; they help them escape predators and search the Great Steppe for the toya grass on which they feed.
Females usually give birth to one calf. The calf can walk and fly from the first day of birth.
Many consider them sacred animals and forbid hunting them. In many folk legends, they are mentioned as the favorite of Voo (the Wind).
A folk legend among the Carticans tells why the Karmirs abandoned their island (Cartica). You can read about it here.
