It is advisable to start your journey from the city of Torma, where you can stock up on food and water and where you can also find a local guide. You can buy all the necessary ingredients at the market. The guides are not far from there; they usually gather in Zukari Square. You can easily identify them by their large yambu birds.
Important! Do not go into the desert without a guide. The Duhar is a harsh place; the heat there reaches 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius) in the summer, and there are very few sources of water that you can drink from. You will not be able to use a compass there because its hand will not point to the north but will rotate randomly. Maps won’t help you either, because the wind moves the dunes and changes the structure of the land frequently. Therefore, it is better that you hire the services of a local guide.
