Balloon Birds

Also called Durs. They are very common in Ineha. Their digestive system turns the food they eat into helium. The helium is lighter than air and therefore allows them to fly for long periods of time. They can fly 24 hours non-stop. The Pelians use them for air shipping. Mainly light mail such as letters and small packages.

This bird is mentioned many times in the Pelian mythology. The most famous story tells about one boy named Fairon and his bird named Nima who went on a journey together to bring the wheat seed to Pele. I may tell their story in another post.
